The idea for happyhotel
During his thesis at the hotel management school, Sebastian recognized the problem many hoteliers faced with unclear pricing for overnight stays. He began to carry out his first attempts to calculate room prices in Excel. In his parents' hotel business, he was able to gain immediate experience and celebrate successes in revenue management.
During this time, Sebastian, Marius and Rafael met in Offenburg. Together, they exchanged ideas with several hotels and recognized the market potential. Rafael and Marius brought experience from the start-up environment and software development. Together, they developed a prototype and built Happyhotel together.
With the first promises, happyhotel was founded and all three founders finally joined Happyhotel full time.
Preparations for the market launch of the beta version of the software. The team carried out internal tests and further optimized the product to prepare it for widespread use in hotels.
At the end of 2020, the founders were able to collect a total of six figures, which was an important milestone for the next phase of growth. With Fabian Silberer and Marco Reinbold, the SEVDesk founders, and Swen Leampe, the VIOMA founder, as business angels, a convertible loan was concluded through the “Pre-Seed” state program.
With Max Wolters (CS), happyhotel welcomed its tenth full-time employee.

happyhotel received further capital for its growth. A total of two million euros were raised in the third financing round, led by the start-up BW Innovation Fund.
With its 1000th customer, happyhotel achieved another milestone on the way to revolutionize the hotel industry.
The move to the new office marks another significant step and a new era began.
Happyhotel's growth is also reflected in the number of employees.
happyhotel received a new look, logo and several new colors.
